I provide a unique view of the capital markets, sowing together 25+ years of sell and buy side investment experience with my considerable educational training in finance (CFA, FCSI), geopolitics (MA UofT, MA Carleton), developmental psychology (MEd UofT), and behavioural finance (currently completing a doctorate at University of Calgary). My career is highlighted by leading a team of fixed income researchers at a major Canadian investment bank, where we enjoyed a #1 rank for 13 consecutive years, and I personally published numerous fundamental, technical and quantitative analysis periodicals. Currently I publish extensive written market commentary on LinkedIn for iA GAM (e.g. The Parker Perspective and Keys to the Market), especially on matters related to fixed income. I also undertake credit analysis of a few industrial sectors (autos, telecom, media, technology, pharmaceuticals) and am a member of iA GAM’s Approval Committee for investments in Private Equity, Infrastructure and Real Estate. In addition, I make regular public speaking appearances at various industry conferences. In terms of volunteering, I co-founded Leader Circle, which is a not for profit with over 1000 members and a mandate to help women, visible minorities and immigrants advance their careers. We host regular Career Development Workshops and networking events, and I publish the Wednesday WoW (Word on Work) every week on LinkedIn, which provides career advice. I am also a member of the Professional Development Committee at CFA Society Toronto, helping establish our annual Future Leaders Forum, along with other events like speed networking, and information sessions on topics like AI and various capital markets careers. Previously, I was a member of the Mentorship Committee offered by CFA Society Toronto and am currently a mentor, as well as a mentor with VersaFi.
