Nigel Branker

Nigel Branker is Chief Financial Officer of Securian Canada and a people- first leader recognized for advancing inclusive leadership and building high- performing organizations where equity drives innovation and long-term success.

With more than 25 years of business experience, Nigel is a progressive thought leader and speaker of emerging social issues, including financial and mental well-being, the future of work and improving workplace diversity, equity and inclusion. Nigel’s expertise in strategic thinking and people-first leadership has resulted in rapid growth to scale including successful M&As, innovative campaigns, go-to-market strategies, unique product and brand launches and leading high-performing teams.Prior to joining Securian Canada, Nigel held various leadership roles in pension and benefits businesses within Canadian and global firms – leading multiple businesses, including pension consulting, benefits consulting, absence and disability management, workers’ compensation and safety groups.

Nigel holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from Western University and is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association for Financial Institutions in Insurance (CAFII).
